Remedies for Bhadra
A Hindu date is divided into two parts, namely karna. When Vishti karna is present in any time period of any date it is known as Bhadra. There are four occurrences of Bhadra in each Paksha of the month. When it occurs on the Ashtami and Purnima tithi of the Shukla Paksh and Saptami and Chaturdashi tithi of the Krishna Pakshs, it is considered as the day time Bhadra. When it occurs on the Chaturthi and Ekadasi tithi of the Shukla Paksh and Tritiya and Dashami tithi of the Krishna Paksh, it is considered as the night time Bhadra.
The occurrence of Bhadra in the first half of the tithti, it is called day time Bhadra, whereas in the latter half of the tithi, it is called night time Bhadra. When day time Bhadra occurs at night or vice-versa, the effects of Bhadra become auspicious.
Twelve Names of Bhadra
Bhadra is known by twelve names – Dhanya, Dadhi Mukhi, Bhadra, Mahamari, Kharanna, Kaal Ratri, Maharudra, Vishtikaran, Kulputri, Bhairavi, Mahkali and Asurshaykari. Chanting these twelve names aids in reducing the inauspicious effects of Bhadra.
